Lagos Teachers Conference (LTC) is an annual event by Educational Aid Global Initiative (Edu-Aid), Covenant Christian Centre’s response to standards in the quality of education available in Nigerian public primary schools towards meeting the SDG4.

One of Edu-Aid’s primary areas of focus is development and equipping of Teachers. The Lagos Teachers Conference was successfully birthed in 2017, and in its second year, had over 9000 attendees and viewers from within and outside Lagos State.

1. To build capacity and strengthen competence through exposure to relevant information, vital skills and current teaching principles, styles and techniques.
2. To share best and current practices regarding mentoring, instruction and motivation of students for best possible outcomes.
3. To prepare teachers in readiness for the new academic session.
4. To serve as a platform for teachers to interact, build networks and develop relationships that will advance the teaching profession.
5. To cause teachers to see their value as champions of child rights and protection and as agents of social change and national/organizational growth and development.

The target audience for this conference includes teachers from all levels of the educational system including primary, secondary, public and private school teachers and teachers who are not necessarily under the formal educational system.

The 2020 Conference will feature pre-conference sessions on Friday the 25th of September. These sessions will address Soft Skills, Digital Skills and Maths Pedagogy acquisition.

Deliberations at the Conference, Saturday 26th September, will be on the following themes:

• True Learning in the Digital Age.
• Beyond Survival: Teacher Resilience and Self Leadership.
• Innovative strategies for educating under-resourced communities for global impact.
